Howdo all,

As a follow-up to an earlier post about WFB armies and their popularity in
UK Grand Tournaments, I've done a similar exercise with 40k. The basic
summary is:

Space Marines - 629 (28.76%)
Chaos Space Marines - 462 (21.12%)

Eldar - 285 (13.03%)

Tau - 190 (8.69%)

Imperial Guard - 140 (6.40%)

Necrons - 132 (6.04%)

Tyranids - 110 (5.03%)

Orks - 99 (4.53%)

Dark Eldar - 59 (2.70%)

Witchhunters - 44 (2.01%)

Daemonhunters - 37 (1.69%)

This is taken from GT heats & finals going back to 2003. Somewhat
unsurprisingly SM are top.

The full spreadsheet is available from
http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/tombworld4/pages/sched_pop.html#popularity , if
anyone's interested.

Cheers, Martyn

Thanks, I can use this to shut up the people who tried to tell me Orks
weren't underrepresented in tourneys, especially with their older
codex. There WAS a reason for it, but I hard time convincing them of
why Chaos was so overrepresented and Orks unrepresented when I
massacred three Iron Warriors armies last year. Oops.
